Is The NHS Broken?
I need a colonoscopy. Apparently before that I need a "bowel preparation pack". I don't know exactly what's in it, but I have to pick it up IN PERSON from the hospital -a 15 minute drive each way. The way my symptoms are right now I explained I may not be able...but they're refusing to post it to me.
Broken. The NHS is broken.
Cheers John. It went ok in the end with no need for any pain relief and no adverse findings. You made me laugh to boot, so that's good!
there is a product "Colagard" available in the US that is a screening test used for folks with low risk or no history of colon cancer and it is ordered by your doc and sent through the mail by the manufacturer and mailed back to the manufacturer for testing. If that is available to you, perhaps that is worth looking into while you work out the pick up issue. Just a thought.

I wish I could claim that it was deliberate, but I honestly didn't see the joke until Dale's little quip!
It’s good it went well in the end. I doubt it would have gone well anywhere else.
The colonoscopy prep should be classified as medical sadism. get you some good reading material to keep in the bathroom because you’re gonna stay there for a while. The procedure is a piece of cake compared to the prep. As for anesthesia try to get them to give you propofol you’re out in your back no hangover like the old anesthesia. A word of advice don’t look around because you might see what they’re gonna use to scope you with another piece of medical sadism. if the gastroenterologist comes in wearing leather, run like hell.
