Can Someone Regain Balance And Walk After Being Immobile For Two Months?
It is possible. My Psychiatrist put me on a med that threw me into full blown Parkinson’s because I was not aware that the interior symptoms I was having was PD & that med is one PD can not be
taken. It was the same as Advanced PD. I could do nothing for myself,I was bathed & etc.,falling so much that my Neurologist put me on a scooter. It was really bad. “But” I went to a Parkinson’s trained PT. I went through PT 3 times in a row. Then the Big & Loud program 4 days weekly & worked very hard. Also had OT & Speech & Cognition.. when I finished I could sit on seat 12” off the floor & stand up 6 times in OT w/out using hands. So I say “YES” it is possible. I went almost a year with few months break. I went back in few mths because I didn’t do my home exercises daily. That’s done & on break again, but need to go back. PD is different for each person, but keep positive & determined & the possibilities are very high.
God Bless You 💕🙏🏼
Earlier this year I had to go to an assisted living physical therapy facility. I had issues with my neck and a knee that was too painful to walk on.
I got an epidural shot in my neck that got rid of about 80% of the pain. I didn't want to get a knee replacement so I ended up getting a nerve blocking device installed in my leg. I have to wear a charging device every other day for 6 hours. I have no knee pain. Of course the root cause of the knee pain is still present but I don't feel the pain. After 63 days I managed to get out of the rehab facility. When I first got home I
was in a wheel chair. Then I moved to a walker after a few months of twice a week visits from the PT person I just use the cane. I still have some issues that keep me on the cane. I hope to resolve those issues soon.

My neurologist recommended physical therapy but to make sure they were PT accredited. The PT tests me first on many aspects where I scored 54. After going twice a week for 8 weeks I scored 94.
The neurologist was impressed but stressed that I should go back for refresher every 6 months. I was at first resistant but as things became more complicated I decided to go back and it was a large success and I continue to do this. The recharge is usually in a 6 to 8 week period with definite improvement.
Was bedridden and this week I walked from my bedroom to my livingroom 3 times. It helps when your PT & OT motivate you…
Good luck Evelyn. Let us know how you do
