If this is accurate, I have oodles of documentation and test results from age 9. 🙄
If I can help make this go away for any other person...

The Vagus nerve is at top of the list. For MANY illnesses and they aren’t just the neurological ones. The Vagus nerve starts by the brain and winds down through the entire body to the tail bone area. Parkinsonisms nearly always affect the digestive system since it is part of the autonomic system; cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive = autonomic system all working without thinking about it.
I found that probiotics work to help gut health whether or not one has anything diagnosed, but it does help with those difficulties in the digestive system. (Try Oli pop) I can be found in the refrigerated area of produce. I get it at Walmart because it’s close. If the carbonation bothers you water it down; I must. It’s delicious and only 35 calories/16 carbs. But it seems to make my digestive system much more comfortable.

I can’t specifically address that theory but I can say PD caused major problem with my entire gastrointestinal system as one of my initial major PD symptoms .

There is definitely a connection between the gut and Parkinson’s disease, via the vagus nerve, and it’s getting growing attention. Check out this well-written article in The Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2024/09.... Be well! Peggy
