It’s definitely related to PD. PD affects every system in your body. That includes swallowing.

See a Swallowing Therapist (SLP) for a swallowing test. Aspiration pneumonia is common in PD patients and there are many tips to help avoid it some of which Dale mentioned.

I would talk with your doctor. It could be PD related, or something else. Pray you find out soon?? God Bless

There are many thing involved in swallowing properly. Parkinson’s throws off the timing of all of these processes. This results in things getting caught in your throat.

Most of us have never had to think about this. Now we do. Take smaller bites. Chew your food throughly. Don’t talk while your eating, and swallowed your food before putting more in your mouth.
