What Is So New About Crexont?
Crexont was approved by the FDA in the US recently (August 9th 2024). As far as I can tell it's just a controlled release L-Dopa product. It's been shown to offer an extra 30 to 90 minutes per day of "on time" compared to immediate release L-Dopa.
But there are other CR formulations; Caramet, Half Sinemet CR...I am sure many others since the rights to Sinemet expired.
Why the excitement over Crexont?
Nigel2...you're so correct...on this platform, it's important to share whatever we learn and know...however, it's also important to remember that the answers are at times unsupported, and we need to take them with a critical approach.🤠..
Nigel2...after reading all the responses to your question... I'm still waiting for more information from this platform in response to our article...let's hope they hear our quandary...ðŸ¤
My Medicare is paying for Rytary. Which costs them over 6,000 dollars every 3 months. You have to start with Sinimet and your doctor has to write you a exception stating that Sinimet isn’t working for you. To much off time is usually the reason. Then Medicare will approve it. If your doctor is reasonable you should be able to talk to him about it.
So, what you all are trying to tell me is that this is just another pill!! My Medical Aid will definitely not pay for it.
I wonder if Medicare covers this drug
