This question tube at my heart strings. I was diagnosed in 2000, so as you can tell, I have dystonia in my legs, feet, back and neck! When all of the dystonia is active, it's really bad! Depending upon the stage you are going through, I have found that a combination of calcium citrate and magnesium citrate taken every night before works well. Also, make sure you are eating plenty of potassium. Helps with the cramping, too!
I am also taking gabapentin for the restless leg syndrome. My neurologist has given me a couple of different medications, but those ended up on my allergy list!
Have you had deep brain stimulation surgery? Prepare yourself for a couple of rough surgeries! My surgeon provided leg massages!
That's about all that I can remember! You have my best wishes!

Blessings to you,
Pam Kearns

Bob has been getting botox shots in his calves and feet now every 3 months for 9 months and it has made a world of difference. He also drinks a tonic water if they start.

Always consult with your healthcare provider to tailor the best approach for your needs.
