It's great to hear that you're already noticing some positive changes! Here are some key points about the timeline and what to expect after DBS:

- Initial Recovery: You may feel tired and sore at the surgical sites. Avoid light activities for the first two weeks and heavier activities for four to six weeks.
- Programming and Activation: A few weeks after surgery, you'll visit your neurologist to program and activate your DBS system. This is when the real adjustments begin.
- Adjustment Period: It may take up to six months of adjusting your DBS settings before you experience the full benefits. Stay in close communication with your neurologist during this time.
- Medication: Depending on your condition, you may still need to take medication for your Parkinson’s symptoms. Never stop taking medication suddenly; always consult your neurologist.

Remember, everyone's experience is different, so it's important to follow your doctor's advice and be patient with the process.
