Which Foods To Avoid When Living With Parkinsons
I was diagnosed with PD in 2017. Now take Rytary. I’m fortunate to have a prescription plan that pays for a 90-day supply with me only having a copay of $25.00.
In the recent past I’ve had many medical tests: Cytology, MRI of abdomen, EGD (webs, ), esophagram, bloodwork quarterly, transthoracic echo, stress test, EMG/NCV, CT of lungs, mammogram, hand and feet xrays, esophageal motility,…
I have been referred to a Low-Residue Diet, Fiber Diet, GERD Diet, and Esophageal Diet. All the fun foods are removed.
Now, I don’t know if any of my medical ailments relate to PD, but the testing has discovered many ailments. My taste is pretty much gone; continuous dry mouth, my interest in food is null. My bloodtest last week shows my protein level 6.3, with 6.5 being the low normal range. Apparently I’m not getting enough.
So, my diet is not fun. But I’m on a multiple choice of different menus/options. Do what makes you comfortable and maintains your health.
