Going Off Levodopa/carbodopa Intentionally
Has anyone purposely missed a dose of carbadopa/levadopa? If so what happened?
I have missed doses never on purpose especially after the first time I missed by accident.
In the early stages you could probably get away with it but over time missing a dose and in an hour my tremor is stronger, my fatigue is worse and I get the sweats for some reason, had dizziness.
Falling asleep missing my night dose call for a horrible morning takes forever to get going…
With medication that effects your brain it’s best to talk to your doctor before changing doses or mixing it up!
If I miss a dose or do not take mine at the same time every day, then my Parkinson symptoms will start up and I will have them for an hour or longer until I take the medication. I have alarms set on my phone to let me know when it's time. My doctor said as long as the symptoms are resolved after taking the same dosage then not to worry. But if I continue having the symptoms then he would examine increasing or changing the medication.
I do not like the shaking and all the other symptoms so I make sure I take the medication and not miss a dose.
The sleeping spells was one of the symptoms I was diagnosed on and I sill have sleeping spells, to my boss's chagrin since it often happens in his meetings!
I have also stopped driving because of it.

Check with doctor,,bad things happen if you don’t come off of c/l per his advice.
My husband has missed pills, both accidentally and, once, on purpose. The result was not good. They make a big difference in the way he feels mentally as well as physically.
