Senemet?
my dr. says senemet takes ONE hr. to get into the intestines to even start working and works 2 hrs. after that meaning it only lasts 2 hours! how do u take yours to last ALL day?
Dear deadinbed, this is Dave responding to your question. Everyone is different when it comes to senemet. Usually, you are told to take this med. 20-30 minutes before a meal. Then most people with PD are told to take one 25/100mg tablet 3 times per day. No way will one tablet last all day. I suspect your doctor is giving you one tablet per day to build you up to the normal full dosage so that you do not suffer with the common side effect of nausea. In the beginning I got so nauseated that my doctor had me take 1/2 of a 25/100 mg tablet once a day for one week, then 1 tablet per day for a week until I was up to one tablet three times per day. Senemet is the "Gold Standard" of all PD medications. However, it takes getting used to. Don't get discouraged and do not give up. God bless you.
I take a different dosage but the same meds. I am less shaky in the morn. So I could probably get by till later but I'm afraid to need to play catch up. So I take my regular dosage. 2 pills at 7 am, 10, 1 pm, 4, 7 pm. Sometimes if I'm up late I have to take a dose at 10. Plus my other night time meds sometimes feel like a walking drug store.
I take 3 pills every 3hrs.
I take 1 1/2 four times a day. 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm.
I take 2 every 3 hours
