Practicing Law For 50 Years, I Relied Heavily On Oral Communication. Now My Voice Is Trailing Off, And I'm Doubting My Effectiveness.
Impaired hearing and eyesight seem to contribute to the problem. I can be talking with someone, and I wonder whether I'm making myself understood. I think speech therapy may be a fruitful avenue of inquiry.
I try very hard to speak loudly and clearly,I also sing every day,all day! I put on my favorite music and belt it out!!! This has helped me voice wise and it lifts my spirit!!!! Plus it's free!!!
When we face diminished capacity it is very scary. I often get scared. Your voice is Probably more effective than you give yourself credit for. Try not to be too hard on yourself.
I took Speech Therapy.. I followed the LSVT program's which helped quite a bit..’
You will need to follow the rules for it.. to strengthen your voice !
My main problem turned out to be a major hearing loss after a long battle with covid. Clay and I would have disagreements about what he had told me. I was reacting to what I never heard. He was reacting to what he had told me. Such a relief. JudyTx 🌹
