So what replaces Levadopa if only carbadopa is prescribed?

From what I understand carbidopa by itself is not effective for Parkinson's. It's job is to help levodopa across the blood brain barrier to become Dopamine.

I’m not sure what that means but I read that carbadopa creates a path for the Levadopa to break through the Barrier
