I can only speak for myself here, but any additional stress or illness makes my symptoms worse 🤔

Just had a hip replacement in January. Knee hip and shoulder replacement are serious surgerys. I only had a mild tremor in one arm when I went in. Don't know if it was the pain or anxiety but my tremors got really bad. The tremors made me feel really weak in my upper body. Felt really helpless from having to depend on someone to do pretty much everything for me. At 70 I'm sure my age didn't help. Don't know about everyone else but my tremors really increase when I experience some emotion such as hurt, anger, anxiety, depression, ect. Or just being in the hospital not knowing what to expect. First couple of weeks are the worst of it. Best advice is to have family or friends to help out. Going to need someone dependable to lean on for a while. Good luck I hope all goes well for you. Be praying for ya.

Reva I’ve had two shoulders and a knee replacement. I was.told I wouldn’t be able to walk pushing a walker. Nobody tells me I can’t if I’ve made up my mind; determination goes a long way. I got hold of my walker A d took off. You’ll do good.

Surgery was canceled. No knee replacement for a while. My husband had to have surgery and then our dog. We didn't expect either of these. So I'll wait until later in the year.

Bobby793, just letting you know when I go in for anything requiring sedation however light, my shaking makes the gurney sound like every screw is vibrating out. Then to calm me they give me fentanyl, which makes me ornery and I demand to know where they got because if it’s from Mexico. So they give me a 2nd dose and I swear at the anesthesiologist for hurting me. One more dose and I’d be picking up that gurney and throwing and all the while my tremor is getting worse. Under certain circumstances, like a surgical procedure or even being sick in the hospital, there’s nothing wrong with expressing your anxiety to your doctor and if there are no contraindications something will be given to help you relax.
