Is Progression Different For Each Person?
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - yes, progression varies. People are diagnosed at different ages, have different symptoms, different causes for the disease, different levels of activity, and different other medical issues that interfere. A 40 year old and an 80 year old are not going to progress the same. Someone with heart issues that is in and out of the hospital will progress differently than someone who is able to be physically active. I think one reason doctors give so little information about what to expect is that nobody knows how an individual will progress. Some are able to live normal lives for years without getting much worse. Others go downhill quickly. People who are active usually progress more slowly, but that is really all that is known ATM.
The symptoms and progression of them seem to be as unique as the individuals experiencing them. Hang in there!
