Are you a good candidate for DBS?
I have sometimes thought of doing that for my son (46 years old, Down Syndrome, PD for 3 years.) He's on Rytary 145 and Rytary 195 every 3 hours from 7 AM to 10 PM (as well as amantadine 100 three times a day) He still needs fill-ins with CD/LD immediate release throughout the day, for stiffness that comes on at various times between the Rytary. It seems that while he does have a fair amount of good times with this the dyskinesias are an unpredictable and very bothersome side effect. If it were me I think I would want to try taking the CD/LD immediate release every hour and see what happens. It certainly is not an easy thing to deal with especially since we are trying to help him be as independent as possible within the limitations of his Down Syndrome.
