Can It Affect The Ability To Stand Up

My hubby fell and broke his shoulder and hip back in April, he had surgery on both, laid in a hospital bed for almost 3 months, finally went to rehab for 7 weeks, he is still not walking, doesn't seem to be able to get up from sitting position and has very little strength in his legs. We need to have a specialist look at him. Our PK doctor is in Toronto and we have no way to get him there. He should have started PD immediately after his surgeries. Is he motivated to exercise to get stronger? That is the only thing that is going to help.
