Doctor Appointment?
Nervous about going to dentist and eye doctor.way overdue
Still unsteady on my feet.1 have a walker and my Daughter
With me. Thoughts?
Barbara I have been dento-phobic since childhood and to make matters worse am a hyper active gagger. I was fortunate to find a wonderful dentist who X-rayed with an external device. She is very gentle and understanding. We take frequent breaks and I even had 2 extractions with minimal difficulty. She explains everything in advance so I know what to expect. My advice is to discuss all your issues first and see if you are a good fit.

Thanks Shannon. Have a good night
That’s ok, sometimes you just might need a little time to build up the courage. Talking about it and asking others might give you some strength and help shake off the worries. You can do it!
Big hugs!❤️
It’s ok to feel nervous…
Give yourself plenty of time, and just go at a pace you are comfortable with.
If you are taking meds try to time your visits around your “on” times. That is how my father does it. He uses a cane to keep himself steady. His posture isn’t very good, but he takes his time and it’s ok. The hygienist is very patient with him and takes little breaks if he needs them. If your gums are sensitive, ask for numbing gel. I’ve had a few issues w sensitive gum line and they can help to make it more comfortable for you. Also, if you haven’t had a cleaning in a bit, your office might have a new way to clean your teeth. Instead of a scraping tool, my office uses a hydro tool. It’s warm water that cleans even better than the old way.
Try to be brave, I don’t like dr visits either. You’ll feel better once you do it and see that everything is ok.
Hugs,
Shannan❤️
Barbara it's normal especially with dentists even without pd but I'm very outgoing and I like to joke with them seems to help both of us
