My wife is upset because I can't keep away from my computer and cell phone. I go way overboard and spend house on Facebook and forums. How can she help me walk away?

I think this may be one thing you have to rely on yourself to do. Your meds may be part of the cause... For some, they have an exaggerated effect on "addictive" behaviours...

Do you agree with your wife that you are spending too much time on your devices? First,I would review your medications with your neurologist to see if one of them my be contributing to your compulsive behavior. Then I suggest that you look at what is driving your compulsive behavior. For example, is it loneliness , isolation, etc,? Do you have a history of engaging in other compulsive behaviors such as abusing alcohol or gambling? I’d look at what you can do to substitute a healthy behavior such as exercising for the unhealthy behavior such as spending hours on line. Good luck.

Can you go out and do things together? Go for a walk or a bike ride, go shopping, visit friends, take a class. Anything that gets you away from the computer. Leave the phone at home.

Smart move Jim, thanks for the advice. I've already realized I was over doing it. My eyes thank you too.
