That said...and I'm still not an expert...if "Ativan" is the same drug (I can't find an "atavan") then it sounds bad...the "relief" you are feeling could well be just the sating of an addiction...sorry. 🙁. If it helps, think I may be experiencing something similar with Baclofen. Doctors. They put us on these things and don't stress how much of a problem they can cause compared to the one they solve.

Gave this answer several months ago. Doing better now.
And you're a kind soul too Barbara. Some people can react badly if anyone suggests they have an addiction. I worried you might, but if you are aware of it, then the answer to your question is simple. No, it is not safe for you to take Ativan.
Nigel2 you are so right. My family doctor prescribed it to me about
10 years ago. I was hospitalized soon after. My neurologist doesn’t like it.
WhenI I spoke to my family doctor, about my meds, first med was Atavan that he wanted to
Put me on again! I did take after bad panic attack. What a nightmare. I have been
Going to him for a very long time. My daughter is taking me to a Parkinson’s support
Group next week and hope I can find a solution without using meds
Thanks again Nigel2. You are very kind and helpful.
Low sodium is hyponatremia, does that sound right?
Best person to ask is a doctor, or maybe a few doctors. Parkinsons or "movement disorder" specialists if possible. Forums are great for comfort, experiences, suggestions, and strategies, but we are for the most part sufferers and carers, not experts, and some of us will take risks with our medication when we are desperate for relief.
