What’s.
Ex Guys, does anybody else have trouble shaving with a razor?when did you know it’s time to switch to an electric shaver my hands are shaking pretty bad this morning. Or does your spouse do it for you?
I cut myself trying to shave and never tried it again. I’ve had a beard ever since.
I have Parkinson’s and I also have essential tremor. My hands always shake. I grew a beard
My tremors are left side dominant, but they're resting only. They disappear with the slightest movement, so I have no issues with shaving, brushing my teeth, eating or drinking. They show up after about five seconds of stillness, but I can move my hand and they stop again. I learned this little movement trick and still utilize it to hide my tremors.
For the most part, they are well controlled by my medications, so I only need to use the keep in motion trick when I'm in between cycles.
I've worn a neat ( now all gray ) beard for decades, so I still have to shave my neck and upper cheek area's and trim my beard or I would probably resemble a very old werewolf. I switched over to a rechargeable sonic toothbrush years ago. Amazingly, at 72, I still have the majority of my own teeth and they're still in decent condition.
My husband had to give up shaking several years ago. He prefers to go to the barber once a month where he gets his head and beard shaved, even though I offered to shave him. 😊
Here’s good read: 40,000 to 1, by Dan Petrick. He was catcher for Colo Rockies until diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
