Heat And PD
How are you dealing with extreme heat? Do you notice any PD symptoms that are worse in the heat?
Definitely for my husband with PD. So I've told him to limit his walks with the dogs (he loves to walk them up to eight times a day!), and let me take them on the walks during the afternoon when it's so hot. He was surprised that the heat has bothered him so much this year, because normally with his PD, he's cold all the time. Not this summer!
I have trouble with the heat and the cold. I’m rarely comfortable.
My breathing gets harder and more shallow on really hot days. I try to stay inside.
Some members of MyParkinsonsTeam have shared that heat can help improve their Parkinson's disease (PD) symptoms. For instance, one member mentioned that putting their hands in hot or warm water usually works for them. This suggests that heat therapy might be beneficial for some individuals with PD.
