Anti-Tremor Device: Anyone Tried A Wearable ATD? Worth Trying?
I am curious about wearable Anti-Tremor Devices such as described in this APDA Article:
https://www.apdaparkinson.org/article/wearable-...
or this one by ATD:
https://antitremor.org/en/who-can-help-atd/
My medication has little to no effect on my tremors and I am seeking an alternative. Interested in hearing about others' experiences with these type of devices.
Thanks!
Nina
I just got my Touchpoints a couple of days ago. Interesting little contraption. Ive been using it twice a day for a couple of days, 30 min at a time, so just starting. I cant say it stopped my internal tremors, but it did make me feel more relaxed and less anxious. At this point I cant say its not a placebo effect, again because Im just starting but its not like turning off a switch and no more anxiety. It just seems to fade away, for lack of a better term. I'll update after a couple of more weeks and see if theres a marked effect. Im hoping if it calms my anxiety it might translate to relieving internal tremor.
Thank You, Erica. I will look into Touch Point.
Rev - Yes, I include the Wearable GLoves in t his category, but they are still only available in a trial as far as I know - not approved for general use.
The bilateral use, whether on my ankles, wrists, or holding in my hands almost every time, elevates the tremor or helps control the stress and anxiety, so if others can benefit I can only hope...
