How Do I Handle My Husbands 24/7 Hallucinations ?
My father had hallucinations at the after a number of years with Parkinson’s. While I was able find extensive information on what causes them, I found precious little info on how to deal with them. I developed my own approach, which worked quite well.
When my father was having a hallucination I asked him questions about what he was seeing. Explaining it to me allowed him to draw me in. That way he wasn’t alone facing it alone. He had company his hallucinations were usually quite benign when he was able to analyze them. It was facing them alone that triggered a fear response.

That is such a good answer, Dale. I do the same thing with my husband. I let him discuss it, describe it, walk around the house with him if he thinks something is in the house, let him go back to sleep in his recliner, or another room, and tell him we will talk about it again in the morning.
