I have had Parkinson's since 1970 when returned from the war. Wasn't diagnose til 2013 but had all the symptoms. The VA was not willing to diagnose it .was a long fight. My son age 46 has developed tremors he refuses to go to doctor because he sees how much I have deteriorated. Just wondering if anyone else has an adult child with pd.

There is a small genetic component with PD, but if you got it from exposure to agent orange, you likely don’t have a gene to pass on.

My father had PD and so do I,but think that’s more coincidental.

Genetic testing can identify mutations associated with PD, but even with a positive result, the chances of developing the disease are still low.

My Dad has PD and we found out he had an aunt and some cousins who had it. I was just dx'd last year with young onset. I understand his not wanting to go to dr. I was hesitant too. But now I know what it is and started Rock Steady and other things to get a jump on treatment
