Anyone Else Losing Weight?
Right before my diagnosis I started losing weight. Now 6months later I’m still losing weight. I’m down about 15 pounds without doing anything different. Has anyone experienced this? If so did the weight loss stop?
I started loosing weight about 2 years ago and went from 220lb to 133 now. I had no change in my eating patern. And I think I am still losing
My "supressed appetite" is missing from my gene pool!! The supressed appetite may be one of the only positives about PD! That, and this wonderful site. I'm very lucky to have you as a support group. I'm newly diagnosed and very scared for my future. I have figured out, by reading your stories, that attitude towards PD can make the journey a little easier. That, and MOVING!!!
I'm in Weight Watchers so I hope I'm losing....I have back surgery coming up the end of March 2023. The vascular surgeon requested that I lose weight. He goes in from the front to expose my vertibrae. Who knew, eh? Only 50 more lbs 2 go.....
Some people lose weight because of the constant movement from tremors or dystonia. Some because their appetite diminishes because they are moving less, they may be depressed, or because they are losing their sense of smell and taste. If you don't want to lose weight, try eating healthy but high calorie foods like avocados or nuts.
I'm losing too because my appetite is down. So far I'm down about 12 lbs.
