Hard Time Getting The Words Out
I have had PD since April 2021. I am starting to have a hard time getting words out. It is extremely frustrating. Is this a symptom of PD or could it be a side effect of the meds I am taking or possibly from the DBS surgery I had back in February 2022? Thank you in advance for any information.
Yes at times because of my job. However it also happens at home when I am not stressed at all.
Having a hard time getting the words out is definitely a symptom of Parkinson’s. It gets especially hard when you are stressed.
The inability to find words in Parkinson’s is called Primary Progressive Aphasia. I was going to attach a link, but I could only a case report that reads like stero instructions.
I also have trouble getting the words out sometimes. Stress makes it worse, but it is frustrating. I've asked my family to give me a moment rather than try to supply a word. It helps ers sometimes. I think I talk less now, too. (That isn't all bad. I found I was interrupting others, which is quite rude.) 🙃
It’s a symptom of PD.
Finding words is my lastest issue. My mouth gets so dry from the meds that I seem to have a hard time talking. Still working full time as a controller.
