Judy, I am so glad Gabapentin works for you but it does not for me....so I am getting off of it....I have restless legs and jerking legs.... and if I thought alcohol would not eat my liver up with all the supplements and drugs I take I could indulge in it every night...but I don 't go there except on rare occasions and even when I do it is a small glass of wine or two....I refuse to have every avenue of pleasure taken from me....but getting back to restless legs...I looked up restless legs on the internet and got a site that took my money for $39.99 but I am a sucker for things that say they will work but they promised I could return the unused bottle if not satisfied so I will be the guinea pig for the group and we will see what will happen. They did have a lot of what sounded like to me just good plain sense but don't they always...lets hope it works....nothing else helps me much and I have been on Gabapentin for awhile plus I take pramipexole 1 mg., none of that is working. Next my doctor ordered a iron infusion for me and the first night it works great but after that not so great but I was in the hospital with my husband for a week as he had what we thought was another heart attack after he had one 1 1/2 years ago...no damage to his heart but I think it damaged mine .....I told him he owes me big time .....I stayed with him and you know how comfortable the accommodations are for family staying with the sick........I think I could have slept on the street outside the hospital on the pavement and it would have felt the same...maybe even better..........but they must have some sadistical person buying that stuff,,,,,I never want to met them in a DARK ALLEY!! If I had slept on the street I would have had a chance of being runover and put out of my misery but no I endured it and lived to tell my husband how much time he cut my life by.....we have to have humor or die , so we chose to laugh...maybe that might be hard to understand if you don;t tease but my family loves it...we thought of song titles that they would be playing on the radio for my husband.....and I think we said we could not use "Another bites the dust" because he lived and now is harassing us.....but we said as we left the hospital, "I had the time of my life", and "On the road again".....believe me we have thick skins and those are the nice ones,.....I will let you know how I do once I try this stuff I ordered it comes in 4 days they said, if I can ever find you again on this site I have problems getting around on it .....

Bye for now

My Restless Legs kept me awake at night. They involuntarily jerk and flop. Good exercise, but not good for sleep. Gabapentin (3 a day) works wonders! ☺️

I was diagnosed with RLS after spending a night at a sleep lab. I had no idea I had it and my husband has never noticed it. My doctor said it was so bad that I was waking up 47 times an hour and I never made it into rem sleep, which is the reason I was referred there to evaluate me for RBD. He said it is frequently caused by a low ferritin level and my level turned out to be very low. I have been taking iron pills and the level I much higher now. I have no idea if I still have RLS since I never knew I had it to begin with. I am also on gabapentin to treat it, which I don’t like. It has given me a huge appetite. I cut back on the gabapentin but I still am dealing with an increased appetite. I hope it works better for RLS than it does for peripheral neuropathy.
