Does Anyone In This Forum Experience Hiccups, Bad Indigestion And Having To Clear Your Throat From Phlegm?
Thank you Maryetta. Hugs
HLake1766. You might try ginger candy. I got it for diarrhea but found it helps w dry mouth and phlegm too. Not sure if you'll get this as you posted a number of days ago. But didn't see it suggested so have added it here.🙃
My bedtime now. Good luck Hope you find something that works. 🙃
Quite honestly, these questions or concerns need to be addressed by your neurologist.
NOTE: I have recently found that taking a 'Pre, not Pro biotic was working better.

P.S. In my opinion, if PwP's are having 'gastro' issues which most of us do then who would know more about it..a Gastroenterologist.
Great info ICE! Here's something that may also help:

I have not had al the other symptoms but have the periodic phlegm in my throat that I need to clear, especially when I talk or stress or work out. I believe that it is due to not being hydrated enough. I tend to let myself get dehydrated, and have been focusing a lot on that lately.
I have read about Mucinex or Guaifenesin. Guaifenesin is OTC and I tried it once but am reluctant to do anything experimentally that involves medicine until I run it by my Movement Disorder Specialist and Family Physician, for their consent and opinion. The Guaifenesin seemed to help with very little side effects that I could notice. ut I prefer the hydration approach if that works.
I heard about Pineapple and Papaya, helping minimize the mucus phlegm buildup. I can honestly say, I really like both fruit, but they didn't change anything for the day. Right now I am using the Kleenex approach. When I cough up he phlegm, it is so thick and disgusting that there is no way I am going to swallow it. So I dispose of it in a Kleenex, and into the trash or pocket from there, depending where I am at at the time. I have noticed that when I do cough up the phlegm, prior to that my saliva has dried up a bit, and it is more foamy. .Not as fluid as normal. (At least I thinks, I have to document to to be certain. My latest venture is with a throat lozenge named Belletene. (I think) It is for dry mouths. I am trying to focus on hydration before meet with the doctors.
This is an area that is new to me, that I have to figure out how to manage it as best as possible. We each could be having similar symptoms but for different reasons. But a lot of what I am experiencing, many of the symptoms and or medications list dehydration as a potential side effect. It is something I never focused on before but gets more attention now. If I just look at how many capsules I am consuming per day for PD meds, my body needs more water just for that.
I know swallowing problems will evolve eventually, but that is where the swallowing exercises will be preventive. It is like a big chess game. And exercises seem to be the only currently recognized method for delay of progression.
Two videos on You Tube , both from PMD Alliance, that give a good insight into PD and its various effects are listed below:

I don't think I answered your question, but tried to give you an insight as to what I am doing based on my experience.
