UTIs Seem To Be A Problem -- Any Advice For Being Proactive?
My primary care doctor always takes a urine sample, but my husband's primary care doctor doesn't -- just wondering if I should request it at well visits to be proactive with this....any other ideas?
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - I use tea tree oil as a lubricant - helps post menopausal dryness, is warming, and is a disinfectant. I like this spray.
I am the one that gets them a few times a year no matter how fastidious I am. I can still get E-coli infection. Hope not too much info but if this helps someone great. My husband got a UTI shortly after knee surgery because he became poo incontinent. Thank goodness he is ok now. So folks watch out for this type of incontinent issue.
I have been lucky enough to avoid a UTI since being diagnosed with PD. My Neurologistsaid at my first appointment that UTI’s can be caused by not finishing completely when you have a wee, so I sit and make sure I have finished every time. It’s worked for me. Might be worth a try for those of you that are getting regular infections.🤪
Il n'y a pas de corrélation avec Parkinson ?
Sorry, I just now saw the question about UTIs. I know the "basics" of UTIs but not very experienced with them. I did see somewhere that being sedentary & sitting a lot contributes to the condition. My husband has had only one & I would bet it was caused by not drinking enough water & being inactive. The problems never stop.
