Ropinerole

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Roscommon, MI

When I began having unusual movements (dyskinesua) on carb/levidopa, my doc put me on ropinerole (Requip) instead, but I don't seem to feel any better on it. But i'm on only on 1 mg three times per day. Is anybody else on this drug? Does it work for you?

I hope they find some other medicine for you. 14mg sounds like a lot at one time. It's amazing to me that you notice not much diff with your PD symptoms on this dosage. I don't notice any diff either, but then I am on only 2mg per day now. I wish I could find something that works as well as carbidopa/lev. used to work for me. Good luck to you when you see your doc.

I'm on Ropinirole 14 mg at bedtime. Stair stepped up to 14 mg over many months. Finding I'm more tired & dozing off especially when driving a car which is not good for my safety or safety of other drivers. Stopped taking it several weeks ago (without informing my neurologist) & not experiencing the tiredness or dozing off. Still have same symptons, tremors, etc. while I was on Ropinirole so not sure how much it is helping. Have an upcoming neurologist appointment & will discuss with her.

My husband is taking Ropinerole (1mg 3x day & .5mg 1x day) with each dose of his Rytary 48.75mg (takes 4 capsules 7am, 2 capsules 12pm, 5pm, and 10pm)

Not sure exactly how it helps, because he still has dyskenisias periodically- sometimes bad and other times mild)
