My Team Is Too Big

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭
Spring Green, WI

my team is so big, too big---I cannot keep track of it at all---is there any way I can shorten and not let any more on for awhile?

I like having you on my team. I also like having a very large team. But I never go to the My Team Activities screen and try to answer every one. Instead I click the square menu box with the three horizontal lines in it (gray or orange) at the top right of the screen, then scroll down to notifications and read each of those. Even with a team of 470, I rarely have more than 10 notifications, even if I have not been on the site for a few days. Usually it is more like 3-5. But to answer your question about a way to shorten your team: click that menu box I described above, and choose My Profile, then My Team. When you click on someone's picture it will take you to their profile screen. On this screen you will see on the bottom right of their picture an orange rectangle that says [On Team]. Click that and it will say [Add To Team]. That means you have taken that person off your team. Since the only way to let more people on your team is for you to choose them, if you don't choose any more for a while, your team will not get any bigger. No one gets a notification when we are removed from a team, so you will not hurt anyone's
feelings. Besides, we can still keep you on our teams.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Dear Bonnie, I am sorry that you feel your team has become too big. What I would do is read through the list of people on your team, write down the names of those with whom you have the most in common and concentrate on them. People tend to communicate with those with similar interests. I hope this is of some help. Regards June.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member.
Hi Bonnie. I totally agree with @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Whether you are able to contact all your team or not they are showing their support for you by adding you to their teams. Posting a message is not necessary but it’s nice to know there are others out there who care enough to make us a member of their team.

I know that I can’t keep in touch with all my team, especially when not kept in the loop by the way the site posts messages, but I’m always happy when a message unexpectedly appears from someone I’ve lost contact with. You have my email address if you feel like contacting me more directly.

Take care of yourself at this difficult time.
Steve aka Wires.

There is an infinite number of ways to handle the large team situation and a challenge is to find and use the most effective one (and maybe invent new methods along the way).

I find myself browsing through the MPT gang's entries and if something strikes a spark, respond. It isn't systematic and well organized, it's just fun.
