Caretaker/wife Feels All Alone.
My wife recently told me she did not realize how much of me she had lost. But now she feels completely alone. Suggestions on how I might be able to help her?
Check if their is a drop off daycare for adults. If there is check it out. Tell her to take you there and that she needs time for herself. Assure her you are fine with this arrangement. Tell her to indulge in spa, massage, shopping, lunch with friends. If she needs a vacation find an in home care giver who can stay with you and attend your needs. Check with senior care or ask around .
Together with her look for a caregivers support group. It was extremely helpful for mother as my father has PD and Alzheimer's late stage. The time apart helps both of them he goes to his support group and meum goes to hers.
I am still fortunate enough i can be left alone during the day so my primary carer my wonderful fiancee can still go to work as normal.
My husband is a great caretaker and makes me feel great. We have been married 50 years this month and dated 5 years previously. We take in sickness and in health very seriously!
Yes and lots of hugs.
Thank you!
