What Do You Take For Your Tremors? Feedback Appreciated.
Pramipexole , carbidopa levodopa er, propranolol and Selegiline. This combo seems too work well for me.
Sharon, i once was put on Meclizine for dizziness and balance...i developed a rash and itchiness...cancelled it and I'm just taking Sinemet 25/100 3x/d...
Sinemmet LD/C/D is the main med used for controlling PD motor symptoms including tremors. But sometimes doctors/neurologists will start you on other meds first, especially if you are in early PD stage, too see how you react to them, or if you cannot take the levodopa meds.
Mirapex/Pramipexole- a dopamine agonist which also helps motor symptoms and RLS (restless legs).
Azilect/Rasagiline - is an MOB inhibitor and slows/reduces the breakdown of dopamine in the brain.
However if these begin to be less effective, then you may need to ask about switching to the Sinemet or use them in conjunction with a lower dose of Sinemet.
Sharon. I don't know why you have been given the Meclizine for your tremors as I cannot find where it is used for this. Its normally used for nausea, vertigo-dizziness, motion sickness and balance which relate mainly to inner ear problems. Are you having any symptoms like these?
The side affects of Meclizine can be drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth and some possible allergic reactions such as rash, itchiness and swelling of the tongue and face, with some people.
Are you on any actual PD meds such as the above?
Hope this might help clarify things
Hugs
Brent
I also take CBD with son THC. It relaxes the nervousness I always feel.
I do not.let this stop me from doing anything. I hike and ride motorcycles
I will do this until the Fn PD inhibits me from these types of.activities.
I’m on the same as Donna.....take Pramipexole & carbidopa levodopa, been on since 2009. Works well. I used to be on Azilect but Dr. discontinued it this year, and I seem to do well without it. But for those “off times”, I take a new medicine as of this year, called Inbrija (levodopa inhalation powder). I only use it as needed. Capsules are inserted in inhaler device and works much like an inhaler for asthma. The pros: for me it WORKS well! The con: expensive and insurance won’t cover! But my dear neuro has given me samples for now!
