Does Anyone Feel Like Their Eyes Twitch And Pulse?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

I will be just sitting there watching tv, talking to someone, or reading and it feels like inside my eye is twitching? Sounds crazy but it is happening all the time now.

Yes, my right eye (which is my PD impacted side at this point) twitches/flutters. When it's happening it is barely noticeable if your looking at me, but it feels pretty extreme.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I frequently have a twitchy eye, but there are numerous things which can cause it, including just being tired. If it bothers you a lot (sometimes mine drives me nuts), you could ask your doctor. Usually it's not a big deal, but there may be occasions when it indicates something else going on. The only time it was a symptom of something else for me was when I was actively having seizures, but I had had epilepsy for many years and needed a change in medicine. It could go with PD, but only the doctor can say for sure.

Teresa

I have twitching, not only in my left eye, but in my arms, legs, and sometimes my entire trunk. I believe the correct medical term is myoclonus. I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about it. It can be a type of seizure, which I have had, but that seems highly unlikely in your case since it is a common problem with PD. If I was you, I would bring it to the attention of your neurologist, not another doctor since it is usually neurological. See what he/she says. Like I said, I don't know what the doctor can or will do. It partly has to do with severity of it. It's not usually a serious problem; more irritating than anything, but only the doctor knows about any available prescription.
Hugs,
Teresa
