My mother will be turning 80 in October and lately she has been having alot of very vivid dreams. She is sleeping alot and seems to be having alot of difficulty with what is a dream and what has actually happened?

Thanks. Pam right now I need all the support I can get. I am a poster boy for caregivers who don't pay attention to their own needs. I hurt my back to the point of needing surgery. I finally had that done July 5 and was making good progress for the 1st 6 weeks and had the stitches out. 24 hours later I was admitted to the hospital with UTI that had me less than 2 hours out of CCU. When you let yourself start spinning out of control its hard to break the cycle. I don't know what I would of done of my son from CA didn't have the freedom to be flexible in his job as he flew home immediately to give me a hand. The message again to caregivers.....take care of yourself first because you may not be around for a 2nd chance

Absolutely a normal side effect. I believe it’s caused by the meds. Certain drugs cause that type of problem more than others. Talk to her Dr & maybe they can try something different. It’s not funny when the dreams are frightening & a person has hard time being able to differentiate between reality & dream world. Prayers & blessings, Pam

According to the knowledge base, individuals with PD may have jerky movements or vivid dreams that make them talk or yell in their sleep. This can be part of the broader sleep problems associated with Parkinson's.

My husband and he believes they are real. I have a very hard time convincing him otherwise. If they are harmless I just go along with him.
