Has Anyone Been Diagnosed With An Essential Tremor Then Later Diagnosed With PD?
I was initially diagnosed with essential tremors many years ago. After my husband died the tremors became more visible. I noticed that the more agitated I became the more pronounced the tremors became. About 6 months late I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
I was also diagnosed with essential tremors by my first neurologist. He left the practice and the doctor that took over right away told me that I had Parkinson's by just the way I was moving and other things that she could see.
I was originally diagnosed by my pcp with ET but she stated it was not her field. She ordered a CT to rule out mini stroke and sent me to a neurologist. He diagnosed me with ET and put me on meds. The tremors got much worse by the next I saw him he put me on full medical disability and different medication. Then covid hit my movements were in Both hands and feet I had vocal tremors and internal shaking but I could only get a phone appointment. The neurologist tripled my medication, still no results. By June I was able to visit in person. He saw me and stated he was not qualified to treat dystonia properly. I saw a MDS in July who immediately tested and diagnosed me with PD. I’m still bouncing around with dystonia but my tremors are calmer which means I’m responding to c/l, I do have problems with nausea but if I take zolfran I I cannot take my muscle relaxers. I found out it is not worth the trade.
It’s been a rough year but I’m still here.
Yes I was at first and then I saw another neurologist and she said that I had Parkinson's.
2014 diagnosed with "essential tremors", 2018 PD. meds are helping some now. But it took a couple of months to take hold. Still the occasional dizziness and tremors.
