Apathy,tiredness,aches And Lewy Body.
Hi guys just a quick question :
If anyone has Lewy Body do you feel any differences in yourself ? ie, mood, memory, concentration, anger etc
I’m constantly tired with back aches and joint pain and general apathy, is it me or is it part of the PD monster.
Thanks all, keep well and God Richly Bless you all.
75 years old. Diagnosed with Lewy going on 9 years ago. Have lost sense of time, most of short term memory and ability to do things Ive always done (make coffee and take meds or load pill box for example; compensated by developing routines and lists; now have to think through the steps even when they're written down and Im looking at them). Intermediate memory impaired, long term memory still good Cognitive skills impaired, administrative functioning slow and impaired (decision making, etc). Loss of words and phrases, understanding of what I hear, lots of apathy, body aches and pains and stiffness (some are due to age and arthritis, but muscular and ligament pains are different). Focus on single task, irritated if interrupted, split second explosive temper, act out dreams, etc. Immediate loss of familiar words and train of thought while speaking or writing. In general, all the things you mentioned.
Bout three or four years ago diagnosed with 'developing' Parkinsonism. Tremors in hands and arms, especially on right side. Balance worsened to having to use a cane on good days, walker on bad days, and rollator on really bad days. Has developed into frequent tremors on both sides, especially right side (had mild stroke on left side couple of years ago but got the shot in time to avoid usual results).
Last couple of days Parkinsonism has gotten worse and worse, as has Lewy. Pretty sure Im on downhill slide on this roller coaster.
Regardless, NEVER GIVE UP!!!
Mirranch2 is on right direction. Never Never ever give up
I have Lewy and Parkinsonism. I have the same symptoms you describe in your initial post and in your above comment about slurring words, etc. Lewy and PD are closely related, more than first cousins, thats why the line blurs as things progress. Ive been at this going on 8 years, and the best advice I can give is that given by Jim Valvano not long before he died of cancer: Don't ever give up! NEVER GIVE UP!
You have a great attitude and God Bless you for that. You have a lot to deal with and I admire you so much. You just keep on keeping on!!!
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, have no fear, I am experiencing similar issues, however, I don’t feel differently about myself, I take it all in stride and try to make the best of each day, hang in there, be well !!
