Major Back Surgery Because Of Parkinson's! Would LOVE Feedback Please!
I have three forms of scoliosis due to Parkinson's which of course has now created lumbar back problems. Walking has become an issue. In fact, I can't walk very far without the aide of a walker. I have read and been told that Parkinson's patients DO NOT DO well with any kind of back surgery. Most of time the patients require several revision surgeries, success rate is very low. I don't seem to have many options which is so concerning.
I would love and of course appreciate any input… read more
I had a spinal surgery several ago and had no problems. GodBless
I recently had a laminectomy which was very successful.........I also had a very good surgeon back.
Everyone is different and not knowing your circumstances and not being a professional I can't advise you. My pain was so severe I found myself saying there is no choice....Good luck .hope you get relief soon.
You would need a local dr that deals with pd patients to recommend a back surgeon
Thank you for responding. Do you have additioinal information as to who to contact? Thank You
Research doctors who work on parkinsons patients - there are new surgeries that are less invasive and may be a better option -back surgeries depending on how serious the problem have come a long way -
