Tremors Are Hindering My Reading.
I have tremors in both hands. My question is how can I hold a book that I am reading while the shaking is going on? I have tried propping up the book, but that puts it too far away. Any suggestions? My tremors are continuous. They also make typing difficult because I hit letters twice.
I bought a tablet so that I could download books onto it. I was told about the tablet when I was at a PD meeting because I hated going to appointments and reading a magazine in the waiting room and I couldn't stop the pages shaking. Works really well and I can play games on it too.
I tap the microphone on my iPad or my smart phone and just talk and let it write. Sometime it writes crazy stuff. If I feel like it I corrected if I don't I just send a crazy message. People that iMessage pretty much know that's what the situation is. maybe that morning I just didn't feel like using The keyboard. It took a while for me to feel comfortable talking to the machine. And also for the machine to get accustomed to my long pauses and to understand my voice. But it absolutely is worth it to me, the time spent was well worth it.
I have a Kindle. Works like a charm. Forget magazines. They have a mind of their own.
I also have a book holder that is like a small bean bag that holds a book or my tablet that I download books onto. very useful
Put the book on a big pillow in your lap while sitting in a recliner. This is the best for me.
