I've had Parkinson's for 11 years. I took the generic carbidopa/levodopa and for me it started to loose its effectiveness after 3 years. My neurologist was able to get his patients on a Sinemet Patient Asdistance Program. Being on the actual drug Sinemet has greatly improved my symptoms. I found that there is a manufacture of Sinemet that causes me side effects and it took almost a year to figure it out. Now when I get refills I always ask for Amerigen which has worked for me. It took months to get all of the other manufactured pill out of my system so I was short of breath and nauseous all that time off and on.

Most definitely I have been arguing with my pharmacy about the brown sandoz that is an excellent brand that you cannot get it anymore it's been discontinued and is now being made as a combo drug Purepac manufacturing is the worst

I actually prefer Teva generic brand of carbidopa/levodopa to the brand name product Sinemet, I feel like I get on faster when I've gone "off' and take a levodopa pill. I notice that the Teva brand seems like the tablets are more powdery and I wonder if they dissolve faster facilitating absorption.
