Does? Taking Meds From A Different Manufacturer Makes Any Difference To The Effectiveness.

I realise pharmacies need to buy at the lowest prices but at what cost to the efficacy of the drug? I am convinced that some makes of Sinemet plus are not as effective as the ones I usually take. Does anyone else notice a change?

I've had Parkinson's for 11 years. I took the generic carbidopa/levodopa and for me it started to loose its effectiveness after 3 years. My neurologist was able to get his patients on a Sinemet Patient Asdistance Program. Being on the actual drug Sinemet has greatly improved my symptoms. If interested you can register on line at www.RxHelp.ca and follow simple instructions on the website. You can also register by calling tolll free 1-866-RxHelp4 (1-866-794-3574) . For 159 tablets = $165.80 (for me that's 31 days); my health insurance covers $48.37, and thank goodness for the Sinemet Patient Assistance program it pays $105.00 leaving me to pay a cost of $12.17/month. I hope this helps answer your question

I found that there is a manufacture of Sinemet that causes me side effects and it took almost a year to figure it out. Now when I get refills I always ask for Amerigen which has worked for me. It took months to get all of the other manufactured pill out of my system so I was short of breath and nauseous all that time off and on.

Most definitely I have been arguing with my pharmacy about the brown sandoz that is an excellent brand that you cannot get it anymore it's been discontinued and is now being made as a combo drug Purepac manufacturing is the worst

I actually prefer Teva generic brand of carbidopa/levodopa to the brand name product Sinemet, I feel like I get on faster when I've gone "off' and take a levodopa pill. I notice that the Teva brand seems like the tablets are more powdery and I wonder if they dissolve faster facilitating absorption.
