Has DBS Had A Negative Affect Or Are Your Symptoms Worse After DBS ?
There are mostly positive stories about DBS, but i have a few friends who turned out worse after DBS. This question is mainly for those who have had a negative experience from DBS.

Re Negative effects of DBS.
Good day to you sir or whoever is the author of this question.
I send you greetings from down under Australia.
I underwent DBS in October 2009, with successful outcomes.
There were and, never have been any negative results for me,
The procedure went well, with positives all the way.
I feel for my peers who have had less than positive results,
and I realise that not everyone has had positive outcomes.
Before DBS and, leading up to the date of the procedure, my mindset was,
that if the the dyskinesia could be reduced by 50% , then that would
be no mean achievement.
I was not expecting miracles. In fact there was 100% reduction.
With only 10% of my peers being suitable for DBS, I worked bloody hard to
get into that 10% . I worked even harder in the recovery period.
I have seen it too many times when my peers undergo DBS and then
think that is the end of it, as if by magic they will come right, sitting around
doing nothing. Doing nothing begets failure.
I had hyper dyskinesia, I feel that to be where am now is greatly the result of DBS,
hard work, my self belief, my mental strength together with total commitment,
nothing less will suffice, along with the most important and valuable asset I possess.
This being my positive attitude.
MAINTAIN A WINNING POSITION.

I haven`t studied DBS much, but from what I have read and seeing and talking with people that have had it done ,I would not recommend it to anyone. It is a hit or miss thing.
So I wouldn`t advise having it done without a long study session with the Dr. before you have it done.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Hello Georgia. You're right. There are some people who had negative experiences with DBS and naturally were all thinking it's going to happen to us to if we have the surgery. Maybe you can give me a solid answer on this question I'm about to ask. How old is the oldest person that they will do the DBS on? I heard it was after 70 that they stopped doing the DBS. Is that true according to how you understand it?
Also there is a person here who is a member of my team who has had the DBS done successfully. I bother him a lot by sending people to him to talk about it but I don't think he would mind just one more right Clayton? His contact post is @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Thanks again one more time Clayton. Love you dear. Sterling
s seen in the ER of my local hospital where I became the medicare pt nobody wanted because I was a readmission within thirty days. after two weeks of inpatient rehab I still h
Yeah we were aware of that but my husband just doesn't stop moving and I find him falling over sometimes even trying to stand sleeping. I know one of the side effects of the DBS is that the possibly an addiction could occur such as gambling sex or whatever but he seems to be scrapping like a collection of something and then he goes and trades it in for money because it's kind of like gambling he just doesn't want to sleep he just keeps going.
