Any One Have Negative Experiences With Orthostatic Hypotension.
Hi I'm Bene, my wife has had ortho hypoten. for years and now PD. Signs of PD have been there for year. Started Sinement this month. The neurol. suggested watch BP and taking it regularly. We will see as the future unfolds.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Thank you for your concern...I will certainly discuss with doctor Friday. I still drive during the day, but only for nearby errands. I do not drive longer than 15-20 minutes at a time. And I haven't driven at night for at least three years. I will take this seriously.
Hi Sterling: The Wikipedia article you posted is for orthostatic hypertension, which is the opposite of orthostatic hypotension (hypertension meaning "high" & hypotension meaning "low"). Both can be dangerous. I hv orthostatic hypotension. My blood pressure "drops" up to 20 points upon standing, mostly in the a.m. about a half hour after taking PD meds. I take medication for it, but hv to be careful & monitor my BP b4 taking it. I will usually take it when it drops below 100. It can be very difficult to manage and you're right, you need to be under a doctor's care for it.😊
Unfortunately the future is not bright. Find your comfortable dose of sinemet and take it while it works. Tell your doctor what dosing regimen works for your symptoms and go for it
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Please don't allow your doctor to take this lightly. Ask him to run some tests to find out if you might have this orthostatic hypotension. Do you still drive? If so, ask your doctor if he/she thinks you can drive safely under these conditions. Better safe than sorry. Warmest wishes. Sterling
