Does Anyone (especially Women) Experience Frequent Urinary Tract Infections? What Helps?
I am taking Sinemet, however, I had UTIs long before I was diagnosed with PD. They're more frequent recently.
I had 4 or 5 UTI's last year. In January I found a product that has made a big difference because I have not had a UTI this year. It is vitamin water called P.A.C.T by Ocean Spray. It advertises to "cleanse and purify." It flushes the bladder, (so some days I only drink half a bottle). It is not available in my area so I order it from Amazon. My Neurologisit/Movement disorder doc said that UTIs can cause problems for PD patients. I feel fortunate that I found something that works for me.
Hi @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Many Pders, especially women, don't need to cleanse themselves with juice or a health drink. Many of our PDers are fecal incontinent and have a difficult time keeping themselves from getting bacteria inside the vagina. Many PDers cannot bathe as often as they used to be able to. If that is ever a problem with you, purchase some medicated spray and some medicated wipes at the drug store and stay as clean as possible. Sterling

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. I got urinary tract infection frequently. My doctor suggested that I use medicated feminine wipes and spray. I have not had a UTI in several months. I get the medicated wipes and spray at the drugstore. Sterling
