Are The Any Supplements That Help PD? I Was Told Today That Flaxseed Oil Was Really Good For PD. Anyone Taking That With Success?
My Georgetown University Neurologist also spent some time doing research fo meds for Parkinson's. She suggested COq10, Grapeseed extract, and Magnesium.
@ LizzyMc I am not suggesting anyone start supplements without consulting their Dr. better still talk with your Pharmacist. My personal opinion, I think my Pharmacist knows more about drug and supplement interactions due to years of pharmacology education. I love my Neurologist, and PT but I also see a Naturalist who told me never stop the meds I am on but to slowly ween off. Which I did. I have found nothing but positive results for my PD by eating healthy, on all homeopathic ways, and exercise. Every PD patient suffers with different symptoms and results from meds, supplements and exercise. You just need to find what works best for you.
I have gone off all prescription meds and doing all homeopathic for 3 years. I take Mucuna Pruriens which is natural form of L-Dopa before bed, GNC's Gold Standard 100% Whey Shakes 2x daily, I add flax and Hemp seed to the shakes, melatonin also before bed to help sleep (do not take if on Maoi's for depression) Vitamin B, COq10 with Omega 3, Check this link http://www.marsvenus.com/blog/john-gray/how-i-r... I get all my supplements from GNC John Gray has his products on this website, but find more expensive for the same thing.
I have been taking flax seed oil for many years but as for helping PD, I'm not sure. I took it originally to prevent heart disease. It didn't stop me from being diagnosed with PD in 2015.
I have been taking Sinimet for seven years along with Azilect.I can feel that sometime in the future I will have a problem,I can feel my limbs twitch and jerk. Not noticeable to anyone else yet,but I can feel it
