Are PDers Afraid To Take Sleeping Pills? If So, Why?
I hear so many Parkinson's patients complain about not being able to sleep. They may be able to fall asleep but wake up and just lie in bed and are unable to go back to sleep. This happens night after night. No sleep or not enough sleep cuts deep and can cause health issues.
What is it about sleeping pills that cause apprehension and resistance? Is there something to fear about taking a pill to sleep? Let's discuss this issue. Sterling
I take Imovane 3.75 and have for a number of years. Tried melatonin just ended up with a headache so I was told to get rid of them. Now I take Magnesiun because studies are showing MG along with a sleep aid helps PD sufferers sleep better. It works for me and there are some peeps in our Parkinson's support group who say it has helped them since I told them about it.
I started having breathing issues about 2 years ago. It was getting severe so my doctor sent me to a pulmonologist. He diagnosed Restrictive Lung Disease and said it was directly related to PD. The muscles around your chest become more rigid, not allowing you to get a full breath. I now use an inhaler and a nebulizer for bad days.
I take Ambien every night or I would never get sleep
My husband has taken Lunesta or Ambien for years now with no problems. If he forgets to take it, he is awake all night. When he takes it, he sleeps all night without waking. I like the Lunesta better than the Ambien .
My husband takes Lunesta and has for years... You need to sleep. Very important....
