I've Been Experiencing Severe Pain In My Lower Buttocks And Back Of Upper Thighs, Is This From PD?

New York, NY

Pain when I get up in the morning and get up from a seated position. Pain alleviates slightly after walking around a bit. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this.

When I saw a movement disorder specialist I asked her about the pain that so many PD patients suffer. She said that it is not PD specifically causing the pain but that many PD patients also suffer from painful conditions such as arthritis, as mainenana said. In my case I have pain from fibromyalgia that has acted up ever since I was diagnosed with PD.

Hey all you wonderful PDers. I agree with everything each of you shared. But a cover-all answer is "Yes, I have experienced this kind of pain." And the truth is, anybody at least 50 years of age, has degenerative pain. We simply will wear out/down. Try to make/keep yourself strong with good food, exercise and plenty of rest. Oh yes...and plenty of TLC. :-)

May God abide in those tired bones of yours. Sterling

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, Totally out of context, but I've tried clicking the blue circle to delete messages I have read but the choices I get are: Unfollow, add to team, add to favorites, report content or spam, block user from my page. No possibility to delete. ?

Hey.......whenever my back pain gets to an 8 on a scale of 1-10... call my orthopedist and have her do a Rhizotomy. This procedure cauterizes the never endings causing my pain and the pain is gone. It usually lasts about a year. It's great with no knife of down-time. Sterling
