Some loops carbdopa side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms or those listed in the SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS section, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment:

unusual or uncontrolled movements of the mouth, tongue, face, head, neck, arms, and legs
fast,

swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs

difficulty swallowing or breathing

Seems to me that if you have emphazema, you already have difficulty breathing and your dr may have to monitor your side effects and risks more closely.

I would like an answer

I take 20-200 carbidopa/levodopa 3 times daily and 50-200 carbidopa/levodopa ER once before bedtime. I was diagnosed 15 months ago.

Have not had any problems with carbidopa/levodopa, but I don't have emphysema. Hope you get some answers elsewhere
