Muscle relaxers can help as can a Valium--also melatonin.

You can buy melatonin off the shelf at most drug stores. Works for me.

My doctor won't give me Melatonin, even though a Parkinson's specialist told me to ask him, he said "we have to ask for it" when I told him about lack of sleep, his reply was "sorry, you'll just have to bear with it!"

Had PD for 11 years. Had many sleepless nights. But recently tried taking Melatonin 3 mg per night. It works most nights.

Maybe you are getting "Sundowners" some Parkinson's people seem to get their days and nights mixed up, think it's time to get up in the middle of the night. Don (my husband) has had these symptoms for about a month. I called his Parkinson's Dr. and she put him on QUETIAPINE FUMARATE 25 MG TAB. she said to cut them in half to start and see if it done any good. He's been on it now for about a week and it seems to help a lot. He even sleeps better and not so much hitting (of his arms and hands). Hope this will help.
