Nani’s You are corrrect . Zonasimide is most frequently used for epileptic seizures but it also works for tremors such as the ones I experience. I do not have seizures but like many medications this works for my Rare Orphan Disease. I have Orthostatic Tremor Syndrome which causes rapid tremors in the legs when standing. It doesn’t involve blood pressure. The tremors are so rapid and stop if I sit or move immediately

Either I’m being overmedicated or my PD is further advanced than I realized. Currently taking Neupro TDS, Stalevo, Primidone, Amantadine and Lyrica 😖🤔😢 and still dealing with tremors and tic movements. Hard for me to keyboard without having multiple backspace/erase and Retypes.

3 - Azilect/Rasagiline, to increase and maintain the level of dopamine in the brain
Sinemet/Carbidopa-Levodopa - Levodopa changes into dopamine in the brain, helping to control movement. Carbidopa prevents the breakdown of levodopa in the bloodstream so more levodopa can enter the brain. Carbidopa can also reduce some of levodopa's side effects
Requip/Ropinerole - helps to restore the balance of dopamine in the brain to improve the ability to move and decrease shakiness (tremor), stiffness, slowed movement, and unsteadiness. It may also decrease the number of episodes of freezing. Ropinirole is also used to treat restless legs syndrome which may improve sleep.

I was taking carbidopa/levadopa 25-100 mg 3 xs a day but we've dropped it down to twice a day. Also I was already taking 3 x1.5 mg of pramipexole at bedtime for restless legg syndrome but she altered it to taking 1.5mg 3xs dly. That's all I take for my drug induced parkinsonism. And all the symptoms are under control.

MarcWeb -- my husband was diagnosed with early onset in 2013 -- very early on he switched to voice activated where the computer types for him. You still have to correct the spelling sometimes and you have to say "period" and "question mark" and "new line" but it helps him a lot.
