Does Anyone Experience Orthostatic Hypotension…low BP While Standing?
Sounds like a ton of fun .I hope you get it straighten out
Unfortunately the orthostatic hypertension has gotten a lot worse. I can not stand up or even sit on the bed without passing out. I have been taken into the hospital 5 days now. The drs are trying to find a good combination of midline to get me to where I can stand and function. I even had the big bright idea of stopping carbodopa livadopa as a fix. Needless to say that was not received well
.lol
It's just frustrating that a "side effect" can cause such troubles. Anyway, have a good day and be strong!
I too have a problem with oryjostatic hypertension.what I have learned is that when I stand up it usually takes 5 seconds to kick in.i would stand up and start to walk around right away. I found that most of my falls happened about 15 feet away from where I stood up so I have learned to give myself about 20 seconds to just stand safely in place to allow for the dizziness to kick in if it was going to.that way if it does kick in I can safely sit back down and breath to give the blood pressure in my head to get to normal. Then I can get back up slower and walk safely.
Refer to my response to Mary Cutler on the meds my husband was prescribed to help with passing out when standing.
Every time I stand up, even from the toilet. I already had low blood pressure, so now, sometimes I pass out, and it is the meds. I am Renee'114
